Greece paralyzed, employees in the street.

 At the call of unions from the private and public, nearly 35,000 people protesting in the streets of Athens and Salonika against the austerity measures on Wednesday. The country is paralyzed by a general strike."To pay for the crisis by the rich." International Monetary Fund and the European Union will take away a century of social achievements. "While the country is paralyzed by a general strike, 34,000 people marched Wednesday in the streets of Athens and Salonika. Union mobilization is similar to previous movements.
Clashes between protesters and security forces took place Wednesday in Salonika and Athens. Molotov tails were thrown against shops in the capital.
Demonstrators protest against austerity measures imposed by international authorities in return for an aid plan of 110 billion euros for Greece in a great difficulty to cope with its debt. The austerity plan foresees an increase in VAT and pay cuts for civil servants.
Marching behind a banner declaring "the struggle against the anti-social", the Confederation of private sector employees (GSEE, 1 million members) and its counterpart public ADEDY (370,000 members) have 10,000 strators gathered. For its part, the Pame, union communist party KKE, gathered 10,000 people.
This is the third general strike in Greece since February. All transportation, including airplanes, ferries, buses passing by, are paralyzed. In the public service, only hospitals are run by teams of penalty. The shops are open, however.
