Russia has settled the question of debt owed by the former USSR from creditors London club, an informal group of creditor banks, said Monday the Russian Finance Ministry in a statement.
"End of 2009, the Ministry of Finance has concluded with the creditors who have accepted this offer, purchase agreements and sale of securities and made the transfer to the creditors of 1 million dollars," says he .
"The debt owed the London Club debt was of the former USSR to commercial banks in countries of Western Europe, the United States and Japan," says he, however, without saying how much money Russia still owes the creditors.
"It is not anticipated in the future negotiations with the owners who have not wanted to use the instruments of the London Club or who have not accepted the offer made in 2009 on the adjustment of debt, adds the ministry.
