Blow to the Tiger EADS .

Germany suspended its order for 80 helicopters built by Eurocopter, a subsidiary of the European giant EADS.

The German Ministry of Defense has suspended its order for 80 Tiger helicopter manufactured by Eurocopter, due to technical problems. This is another blow to EADS, the parent company of Eurocopter, already struggling with the A400M and the NH90 helicopter multifunction.
A report by the German Ministry of Defense announced Tuesday by Reuters, says serious problems regarding the electrical installation of the device. "The Ministry of Defence plans to suspend the purchase of helicopters until the deficiencies are repaired effectively and systematically," he says so.
Of the eleven aircraft already delivered in the German army, none were declared fit to operational or training missions. The order is valued at Berlin 3 billion euros. This is the final version of Tiger, which must be used by the German army in Afghanistan. The France has also ordered 80 Tigers, but in a different version. The French models are operational since last year in Afghanistan.
